Education

I was born and raised an Aggie here in Cache Valley. I received my bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies with a minor in Social Work from Utah State University and have been lucky enough to be able to continue my schooling there. I will graduate with my degree in Marriage and Family Therapy this next spring. I have been blessed with the most wonderful mentors throughout my undergrad and masters experience. They have helped me develop a greater capacity to care and help through theoretical knowledge and by just being a good person.

Experience

As a clinician I have spent most of my time working with young children and their parents. I use play therapy techniques and work to help parents gain confidence in supporting their child. I aim to help children understand that they are capable, courageous, that they matter, and help them connect with others. In addition to working with children, I have helped individuals navigate eating disorders, manage anxiety and depression, work through premarital struggles as well as help couples who are considering divorce.

Community

In addition to working as a clinician, I have had wonderful experiences caring for older adults with dementia, working as a resource aide at a local high school, presenting mental health workshops to young adults, working at a pediatric doctors office, and assisting as a softball coach to teens. I find a lot of joy being with people of all ages and feel I learn from each one of them.

On a more personal note…

I really love being a therapist and pursued this career because I believe that families are the foundation of society. Our relationships with one another have the potential to bring us the greatest joy and I hope to play a small part in creating greater safety and support between loved ones.

I am happiest outside. I love the wind on my face and will beg my husband to drive my car so I can stick my head out of the sunroof. I like to play sports, my cello, clean my house, hike, camp, and watch movies. I will always choose to spend my free time with the people I love most and am so lucky to have the greatest husband who I’m inseparable from.
